Rick has been drawn to the beauty of the natural world ever since he was a young boy growing up in Wisconsin. Along with the necessities, he started taking a camera with him on his hikes and explorations. After graduating from college, he moved to Alaska and spent two summers working and photographing in Denali National Park. This is where his love for both the wilderness and photographing really bloomed.
Rick eventually moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1988 where he could work and photograph year-round. Rick believes Jackson Hole is a magical place. " With its abundant wildlife and breathtaking scenery, it truly is a paradise for a nature photographer. If one is patient enough, they can capture every species here … even mountain lions and wolves … without going to zoo’s or game farms. Every one of my images is WILD."
Besides Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks, Glacier National Park, Banff & Jasper National Parks, and Denali National Park are also his favorite places to photograph. All are truly wild places with endless possibilities. Long live the Rocky Mountains!
