After teaching for nine years in music education and the humanities, as well as coaching and teaching tennis for over 20 years, and then working a seasonal job at a local ski resort for 16 seasons, Carol felt it was time to pursue her lifelong passion for photography in a professional manner.
Carol's interests and hobbies have taken her to southern Africa seven times since 1987. The trips have given her an opportunity to combination photograph and witness unique and unusual wildlife behaviors. While traveling alone throughout southern Africa, Carol has photographed wildlife from her car and has trekked miles across the desert and into the dunes to capture her stunning shots. Her work covers a variety of subjects: North American and African wildlife, birdlife, reptiles and wildflowers; ancient civilizations; and scenics. Polich's travels have taken her not only to the southern African countries, but also to Madagascar, Morocco, Nepal and Southeast Asia. While there, Carol keeps an eye out for photo opportunities of landscapes and observes the behaviors of the wildlife in these lesser known areas.
